DESCRIPTION

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversees assigned employees and operations of treatment facilities.
  • Tours facilities to view process activities and equipment performance to ensure overall maximum efficiency.
  • Makes recommendations to PA Environmental Solutions, Inc. (PESI) President regarding facilities performances and operations.
  • Works with General Manager to develop and implement a maintenance schedule for plant equipment.
  • Controls budgeted funds for operation expenditures and requests approval for major expenditures as required.
  • Responsible to know and understand policies and procedures set by PESI.
  • Operates Authority and/or PESI vehicles within safety standards and procedures.
  • Contributes to team effort by assisting others with assigned duties as needed.
  • Maintains health and safety and environmental protection as a priority.
  • Maintains cooperative relationship with staff by communicating necessary information, responding to requests, building rapport, and participating in problem solving methods.
  • Assists with preparation of annual reports such as CCR, AWSR and Chapter 110.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Advanced knowledge of processes & equipment involved in water and wastewater treatment.
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical principles, including pumps, motors, and other equipment.
  • Knowledge of substances and conditions that can negatively affect water and wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Ability to assign and monitor job tasks to ensure PESI staff meets contract requirements.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers, public officials, state officials, engineer, contractors, vendors and, etc.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle, possess a safe driving record with a valid PA driver’s license throughout employment.
  • Possess negative Drug & Alcohol Screen testing(s) and background check.
  • Skill in use of computer technology as it pertains to the operation of the facilities.
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise operating records and logs.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or equivalency.
  • PA DEP water and wastewater operator certifications with all classes and subclasses.
  • Minimum of five (5) years operational experience of water and wastewater facilities.
  • Minimum of five (5) years management experience.

DESCRIPTION

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Makes recommendations to Operations Manager and/or Senior Operator regarding facility performance and operation. 
  • Observes variations in operating conditions and interprets test results to determine processing requirements.
  • Determines causes of any operations malfunctions and rectifies where possible.
  • Implements the maintenance schedule for plant equipment, sustaining applicable documentation. 
  • Inspects, maintains, repairs, and adjusts plant equipment, as required. 
  • Follows written (SOPs) for all areas of operation, including emergency procedures. 
  • Responsible to know and understand policies and procedures set by PA Environmental Solutions, Inc. (PESI).
  • Collects samples and performs process laboratory testing, completes applicable documentation.
  • Operates Authority and/or PESI vehicles within safety standards and procedures. 
  • Contributes to team effort by performing other assigned duties as needed. 
  • Maintains health and safety and environmental protection as a priority. 
  • Maintains cooperative relationship with staff by communicating necessary information, responding to requests, building rapport, and participating in problem solving methods. 
  • Performs general housekeeping functions such as sweeping floors, cleaning spiderwebs, changing light bulbs and, etc.

  • Requires high school diploma or equivalency, additional experience beneficial.
  • Ability to learn operation processes & equipment involved in water and wastewater treatment. 
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical principles and processes involved in water and wastewater treatment.

JOB TITLE: Sanitation Technician

GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible to operate a Company vehicle and drive to various locations to: deliver, pick up and/or service portable toilet(s) and/or handwash station(s); make repairs to portable toilet(s) and/or handwash station(s) as needed. May also be asked to help with other task(s) in different departments within the Company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):

  • Operates Company vehicle(s) in a safe manner, in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and Company policies. 
  • Maintains clean Company vehicle(s) inside and out.
  • Performs daily pre and post trip inspections of Company vehicle(s).
  • Immediately reports all unsafe situations or service-related issues to Supervisor. 
  • Performs all tasks assigned by Supervisor including delivery and pick up of rental units, restocks truck, organizes shop and yard. 
  • Thoroughly cleans and restocks portable toilets during service visits. 
  • Responds to emergency calls in a timely manner. 
  • Must keep work areas in yard and shop neat and organized. 
  • Submit all route tickets and/or payments received at the end of each shift. 
  • Utilizes dispatching software for routing, documenting, photos, and logging customer concerns. 
  • Inspects, maintains, repairs, and adjusts Company vehicles and rented equipment, as required. 
  • Responsible to know and understand policies and procedures set by PA Environmental Solutions, Inc. (PESI).
  • Contributes to team effort by performing other assigned duties as needed. 
  • Maintains health and safety and environmental protection as a priority.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to read, operate and understand an electronic map/GPS/ dispatching system utilizing a phone or iPad. 
  • General knowledge of the mechanics of Company vehicle(s) utilized. 
  • Ability to prioritize job tasks as assigned, to work independently and as a team member. 
  • Ability to professionally communicate with co-workers, customers, and the general public. 
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle, possess a safe driving record with a valid PA driver’s license throughout employment.
